Grant awarded to implement intersection improvement

The Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority (MHRA), working in partnership with the City of Houston, has been awarded approximately $600,000 in Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Shepherd and Durham Major Investment Project

The Shephard Durham project is focused on safety, connectivity, and reconstruction of aging infrastructure including the roadway, water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities. The available right-of-way allows for intersection improvements to reduce congestion, the addition of separated bike lanes and improved walkways for pedestrians.
